Xiaomi, the Chinese smartphone manufacturing firm has been developing a new smartphone Xiaomi Mi 5 since a long time. Now, a new report has emerged out of China which claims that the flagship handset of Xiaomi Mi 5 will be launching in two variants. Till now, there have been bounteous rumors about the Xiaomi’s Mi 5 smartphone and today an interesting news has revealed from mydrivers.com which states that the Mi 5 will be available in two different versions.

Many speculations have been spread across the web regarding the design of the Xiaomi’s Mi 5 which is the first model. Last year, in the month of December, the company has released two new teaser images of Xiaomi Mi 5 on the Weibo account of the Chinese smartphone maker. The first model which was leaked earlier will come with 2.5D curved glass on both the sides (front and rear) while will also feature a metal frame. The report adds that the 2.5D curved glass featuring Xiaomi Mi 5 model will feature a full-HD display.

Xiaomi Mi 5 to be Available in Two Variants

The long-rumoured Xiaomi Mi 5 is now tipped to launch in two color variants. The second purported Mi 5 variant, on the other hand, will sport full metal body and is expected to feature a display with QHD resolution. The report claims that both the variants will sport same screen size. However, the company has not yet revealed whether the two variants will have different RAM and storage options.

According to an earlier report, it claimed that the Xiaomi Mi 5 will come in two versions based on RAM and storage. In terms of pricing, the 32GB internal storage and 3GB RAM version of Xiaomi Mi 5 was said to be priced at CNY 1,999 (approximately Rs. 20,300) while the 64GB inbuilt storage, and 4GB RAM is said to be priced at CNY 2,299 (approximately Rs. 23,400).

Leaked Specs

Based on preliminary leaks, the Xiaomi Mi 5 is said to sport a 5.2-inch display with either full-HD or QHD resolution. The handset is expected to launch in two memory and storage versions such as 3GB of RAM with 32GB internal storage, and 4GB of RAM with 64GB onboard storage. On the camera front, the Xiaomi Mi 5 is rumoured to come equipped with a 16-megapixel rear camera and a 13-megapixel front-facing camera.

It is also anticipated that the device will be power-packed by a 3600mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 tech. The smartphone is said to run MIUI 7 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system. The Chinese company newly gave away launch time frame of the Xiaomi Mi 5 flagship device. The Chinese firm said that the Xiaomi Mi 5 will launch after the Spring Festival, which this year begins on February 8, and lasts 15 days.
