Xiaomi MIUI 7.1 Global Stable System Update Starts Rolling Out Now For Select Devices

Xiaomi, the Chinese handset maker has finally announced that it will commence rolling out the global stable build of its MIUI 7.1 on Monday. The MIUI 7.1 is the company’s custom ROM based on Android Lollipop operating system. The Chinese firm announced that the MIUI 7.1 global stable build will be rolling out for the eligible devices. The  list of selected devices for which the update starts rolling out includes the Xiaomi Mi 3 along with  its successor Xiaomi Mi 4. The new Mi 4i and Mi Note will also get the new global stable build.

The list also includes the uber budget Redmi 2, Redmi Prime and Redmi 1S. Xiaomi has listed the devices for which the MIUI 7 update will be rolled out. As per the Chinese tech firm, the MIUI 7.1 will be arriving on Mi 3, Mi 4, Mi Note, Mi 4i, Redmi Note 4G, Redmi 2 / Prime, Redmi 1S, Redmi Note Prime, Redmi Note 2, Redmi Note 3G, and Mi Pad/Mi Pad 2. This update will be available Over The Air (OTA) for the users of above-mentioned devices.

Xiaomi MIUI 7 Global Stable Build for Multiple Devices

The MIUI 7.1 global stable build with ROM V7.1.2.0.LXAMICK has been already rolled for the Xiaomi Mi 2/2S which can be downloaded from the MIUI forum thread. The company said that the whole changelog listing the bug fixes, download links and added features to this updated operating system will be posted soon along with the update when it goes live. MIUI 7.1 China stable build for China will also start rolling out today.

The MIUI 7 global stable build was rolled out in India last year. Some of the highlight features of the previous MIUI 7 include four default themes such as Rose, Pink Blush, Ocean Breeze, and High Life.

  • A daily lock screen feature that changes the lock screen wallpaper every day.
  • A new copyrighted images exclusively for MIUI.
  • Provides upto 30 percent better response time than MIUI 6.
  • A decline in overall modem power consumption alongside background restrictions apps to save up to 10 percent battery life.
  • Includes a Baby album feature that identifies baby faces and creates albums.
  • The build also comes with a new Child mode in MIUI 7 that lets users select apps accessible to the child and also allows to add passwords and a mute notification feature.

The new MIUI 7.1 update will be available via the Update app in MIUI. Check out for the notification on your supported phone or tablet when it becomes available.
