Egg and Chick

People, in general, have reasoned that eggs are non-vegetarian because they come from a hen which is a living thing. Well, the answer according to scientists is that eggs are very much vegetarian. Scientists explain that there are three parts of the egg such as eggshell, egg yolk, and egg white.

The egg white, also known as albumen only contains protein and the egg yolk is mostly made up of proteins, cholesterol, and fat.

The eggs that we eat do not have embryos. This means that the eggs probably have not developed enough to be at the stage where one would be eating an actual animal/bird. Now, fit this thing in your mind that you aren’t eating bird/animal as these eggs don’t have embryos and are unfertilized.

When a hen is 6-months-old, it lays an egg for everyone and a half days. It isn’t necessary for the hen to mate before laying eggs. These eggs are known as unfertilized eggs. Without the rooster, the eggs are unfertilized, which means there are no chicks. And the eggs that we buy from the local markets are mostly unfertilized.

We are really relieved to learn that eggs are vegetarian. How many will you start eating them now?
