The Guinness Book of World Records is a reference book published annually, listing world records both of human achievements and the extremes of the natural world. The book itself holds a world record, as the best-selling copyrighted book of all time. As of the 2017 edition, it is now in its 62nd year of publication, published in 100 countries and 23 languages.

In India, we have some of the Guinness World Records held by actors, singers, and Hindi film industry. Do you know that Abhishek Bachchan, who is often trolled on social media and makes headlines for different reasons other than movies, holds the Guinness World Record in his name?

Yes, Abhishek Bachchan holds a Guinness World Record for Most Public Appearances made by a film star in 12 hours. Abhishek made this record by visiting seven places while promoting his movie ‘Delhi-6’ in 2009 in theatres of 7 cities like Ghaziabad, Noida, Delhi, Gurgaon, Faridabad, Chandigarh and Mumbai in just 12 hours.

The actor rushed from one city to another and traveled 1,800 km by car and a private jet in his attempt to get the feedback of audiences in different cinema halls. Earlier, this record was in the name of Hollywood actor Will Smith who attended three media events in 24 hrs while promoting his movie “I, Robot”.

Abhishek broke the record by managing to pack in seven different venues in just 12 hours. There are many other celebrities in India who holds Guinness World Records. This is a very interesting list. Abhishek Bachchan’s record is the most interesting one. But, he still has it.

1. We all know that Kapoor family rules the Bollywood. This acting family holds a Guinness Record for assigning 24 actors to the Bollywood industry which no family did it.

2. Kumar Sanu is the melody king of Bollywood. He holds a world record by recording 28 songs in a single day in the year 1993.

3. The production of the movie “Love and God (Kais Aur Laila)” was started in the year 1963 and was released in 1986. This 23 years of production period made the movie responsible for achieving a world record.

4. In the year 2009, the Indian film industry made a world record by producing 1288 movies in 24 distinct languages.

5. “Bahubali – The Beginning” movie holds the record for making the largest poster, which is about 4793.65 square meters.

6. “Yaadein”, a Bollywood movie back in 1964, has enrolled its name in the Guinness Book of World Records because of the least number of actors and that the movie consisted of only a single actor except for Nargis, who played a negligible role.

7. Hrithik Roshan’s debut film, “Kaho Naa Pyaar Hain” along with Amisha Patel was the biggest blockbuster of the year 2000. This movie won 92 awards, which made it responsible for engraving its name in the Guinness World Record Book.
