A family in Wales discovered thousands of extremely rare alien-like sea creatures that are worth around $65,000.

47-year-old Martyn Green and his family were on a trip to Caernarforn on Sunday when they discovered what turned out to be Goosenecked Barnacles.

The Goosenecked Barnacles can sell for over $32.

The creatures were found clinging to a large piece of driftwood on the beach.

Martyn, the man that found the fish, said:

My wife Gemma, she found it. We were walking on the beach and she called us and said “come back, look at this”. We went and had a look and it looked like something not of this world. It was quite an attraction for the locals.

Daniel, the son of Martyn, made a quick search on Google and found out that the animals that they came across are Goosenecked Bernacles.

They are a rare species that are known as a delicacy in Portugal and Spain.

The total value of the Gooseneck Barnacles that they found could be as high as £50,000.

He said:

It turns out they are one of the most expensive sea creatures you can buy. From looking on Google I think it’s about £25 each they go for, and on the log there were probably about 2,000 of them.

After getting to know about the valuable fish, Martyn went on to take pictures of the animals and shared them on social media.

Because of the huge value of the Goosenecked Barnacles, Martyn and their family did not reveal the exact location of the find.
