Indian Weddings are filled with ritual and celebration that continue for several days. A wedding is not just about two people being brought together, but two families. This is a once-in-a-lifetime event for everyone which deserves a celebration that is unforgettable in every way.

While the bride and groom are filled with excitement, the spectators aren’t far behind. And why not? ‘ The great Indian wedding’ does give us every reason to showcase our exuberance and keep our spirits high!

It calls for stunning outfits, dance numbers, different varieties of food and a great satiating feast. Yet, sometimes they turn pretty sour and controversial that the things change up to a whole new level.  The same thing happened in Rampur district of Uttar Pradesh where a wedding was called off due to the unavailability of meat.

In a bizarre incident, a wedding in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh Rampur district was called off by the bride’s family when the guy refused to solemnize his marriage because there were no beef dishes on the menu.

According to the reports, the parents of the groom demanded the bride’s family that they be served beef at the ceremony. 

The incident took place in the Dariyagarh village under the Bhot Police Station. According to the condition put by the groom’s family they had asked the bride’s family to either serve their guests with beef preparations or be prepared for cancellation of the marriage.

Besides asking for a non-negotiable demand of beef dishes, the groom’s side was also demanding dowry and asked the girl’s family for a car in the wedding.

“They demanded beef to be served at the wedding and a car. When we denied for both, they called off the wedding. The government has banned beef. How can we serve it?” the bride’s mother told ANI.

A complaint was registered in the Patwai police station against the groom’s relatives and an investigation is on.

Earlier, there are many reasons to call off a wedding. Two years ago, a woman walked out of her wedding when the groom couldn’t add 15 to six. However, this incident probably has topped the bizarre list of reasons to call off a wedding.
