Online food delivery application Zomato is now accessible in 300 cities in India

On Monday, the online food delivery application announced that it has expanded in 100 cities in India, which hits the 300 city mark for the company.

Some of the new cities that will be getting the services of the online food delivery app are Shimla, Ayodhya, Bhuj, Junagadh, Begusarai, and Junagadh.

Mohit Gupta, the CEO of Zomato, said, “There are 40 cities in India with a population of over a million and over 380 cities in India with a population of over 100,000. When you fundamentally move beyond the 40 cities to the 380, you are truly representing India… As we expand, we are also focusing on improving our average delivery time, which now stands at 30.5 minutes.”

The CEO also said that the company had the best growth in Punjab and Andhra Pradesh.

As of now, the application provides 45-50 restaurant options in every city they are offering their services in, the company says this will increase in the upcoming months.

Zomato was founded in 2008 and is now serving food to over 70 million people every month.

They are tied with 1.4 million restaurants in 24 countries.
