Uber To Launch UBERAIR In Melbourne Or Sydney In Testing Phase
Uber is one of the most successful companies in the world right now. How did they do it? Well it’s easy, and that is by getting a person from one destination to another, and now they are trying to step their game up.
And how is that?
Well, the company is currently planning to launch its new Air Taxi Services in Sydney or Melbourne in its testing phase.
Uber is looking at Sydney and Melbourne to start and test their helicopter taxi services.
The company has launched the air taxi service in Dallas and Los Angeles but is still in the testing phase. They are currently eyeing the two major cities in Australia to understand the services better on the world stage.
Uber said, “On-demand aviation has the potential to change the way we think about urban transport, and radically improve urban mobility by giving people back time lost in their daily commutes.”
The company added, “Uber Air also represents a unique opportunity for Australia – including the local businesses Uber would partner with – to be part of the development of this innovative technology.”
In addition to that, reports suggest that the air taxis that are going to be offered in Australia are going to be Electric and can fly at speeds of up to 320 kilometers per hour.
In a submission that was made by Uber, it said, “Importantly, we want to continue to offer true choice and flexibility to individuals, but also be able to provide more support and assistance to those choosing to use our apps.”
The company added, “We recognize there is more to do to support independent workers and we want to be the driving force in Australia towards this future, with concrete actions including our recent partner support and protection policy for Australian driver and delivery-partners. We believe the best way to secure an inclusive future of work is to pursue reforms that better reflect the growing preference for more independent and flexible earning opportunities, without coming at the expense of the security and dignity that Australians expect of work.”
The testing phase will be launched in Australia next year, and hopefully, the air taxi service will be available in the country commercially in 2023.
