Hanging of prisoners may not be quite natural in India as many rapists and terrorists spend loads of time in prison cells without sentencing to death. Finalising their punishment is always a lifetime delay. But in foreign countries like Dubai, USA etc. people are very familiar with the execution of prisoners.

As we all know that our beloved freedom fighter who doesn’t know the meaning of fear “BHAGAT SINGH” along with Sukhdev and Rajguru were executed on 23 March 1931 at 7:30 pm in the Lahore jail.

Also, we may be watching the scene of executing prisoners in the early morning in many movies. During the time of execution, there is just a judicial executioner, a magistrate or his representative, a doctor and some policemen. All this scene is kept confidential. It is not supposed to be telecast. Even though it;s uploaded on youtube, it gets removed within a fraction of the time as it is against the law.

Now, here’s a question for you. Why were prisoners executed only in the early morning?

Here’s The Answer:

• Other prisoners in the prison cell who are going to be executed at a later time  can posses a threat of unrest by seeing the hanging of prisoners. So, execution takes place in the early morning because all other prisoners are asleep at that time.

• According to the law in the California, death warrant is valid only for one day. The prisoners should be hanged within the one day after the issue of a death warrant. Otherwise, they should apply for re-petition for the issue of a fresh warrant.

• Medical tests should be conducted before the execution of the prisoner. Also, there were many pre and post execution exercises  which include many file works as a standard procedure. All this process consumes a lot of time. Others daily schedule should not be disturbed because of execution of a prisoner. So, the execution is done at early hours in the morning.

• Another reason is that the dead person’s family members can find the sufficient time to perform all the rituals of the dead body that day before the decay of the body.

• Moreover, if a person execution is done during the evening or night, the person would have been worrying since the morning thinking of his death within the next few hours.
