Shared on Twitter, the video shows what it’s like to see an elephant baby taking its first steps.

Susanta Nanda, an Indian Forest Service Officer, shared the video on Twitter on February 6, 2020, and it is winning the hearts of users on social media.

The video shows a newborn elephant trying to take its first steps after standing up.

In the 25 second long video, the newborn baby can be seen falling on its trunk after its first try, but that didn’t stop it and got back up.

The elephant stood up and took its first steps.

Nanda shared the video along with the caption of: “A journey of a thousand miles begins with this small step.”

Fast fact, newborn elephants take around 1 hour to stand and a couple of hours to take their first steps.

Elephant calves are around 3 feet tall at birth and 99 percent of their births happen during night time, said IFS Susanta Nanda.
