Ghaziabad: 15-Year-Old Student Drowns After Falling In An Open Drain

A class 10 student, who was 15-years-old, died after he accidentally fell into an open drain in Ghaziabad.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the class 10 student was on his way home and was coming from school.

Investigations also revealed that the workers of the Ghaziabad Municipal removed the cover of the drain when they were cleaning it, but they did not place it back after the cleaning operation.

Reports suggest that the drain was overflowing.

the boy failed to see the open drain as it was overflowing, after the police were informed about the incident, they rushed to the spot.

Sudhir Kumar Singh, the Senior Superintendent of Police, said that local divers brought the dead body of the student out from the drain.

The kid was rushed to a hospital nearby, but the doctors declared him dead upon arrival.

Deepanshu, the class 10 student, was on his way home when he fell into the open drain in Sarvodaya Colony in Vijay Nagar, Ghaziabad.

The police requested an autopsy, but the parents of Deepanshu did not allow it.

An investigation has been launched by the Ghaziabad Municipal Commissioner.

The police said that action will be taken against the workers who failed to do their job.
