Gold Smartphone Covers Worth Rs. 42 Lakh Seized From 2 Chinese Nationals At Delhi International Airport

The CISF personnel at the Delhi International Airport arrested two Chinese Nationals for trying to smuggle in gold that was molded into smartphone covers and were painted black. Officials said that the smartphone covers are worth Rs. 42 lakh.

Authorities at the airport detained the 2 foreigners, who are from China & Hongkong, with 1.2 Kg Gold that was converted into iPhone Covers.

The two men have been identified as Yinsheng Zhuang and Haipeng Chen, both Chinese nationals were detained by the police at the IGI (Indira Gandhi International Airport).

The two men were supposed to head out to Hong Kong via an Air India flight.

The 1.2 kilograms of gold, that has an estimated market value of Rs. 42 lakhs, have been handed over to the Customs Department.

On the same day, the CISF detained two Indian men who were carrying 130 kilograms of red sandalwood, which is worth around Rs. 19 lakh.

Officials detained Rahul Kumar and Mairajuddin at the IGI, they were supposed to go to Bangkok via a Thair Airways flight.

The 130 kilograms of red sandalwood have been handed over to the customs department.
