Indian Construction Worker Beats Usain Bolt’s 100 Meter Record With The Help Of 2 Buffaloes

A construction worker from India has beaten the 100-meter world record of Usain Bolt by running the same distance in just 9.55 seconds.

But he didn’t beat it the way Usain did.

In the video that is viral on social media right now, 28-year-old Srinivasa Gowda, the construction worker, beat the record with the help of 2 buffaloes.

Gowda, who is from Karnataka, South India, was taking part in the sport of Kambala, which is where the folk sprint is done over a course that is a bit over 100 meters through rice fields.

In the race, the men hold onto 2 buffaloes.

The world record of Usain Bolt stands at 9.58 seconds, which was set in Berlin in the year 2009, but Gowda did the impossible and broke the record.

In just 13.62 seconds, Gowda, with the help of his 2 buffaloes, covered the whole distance of 142.4 meters.

Unofficially, Gowda shaved a couple of milliseconds of Usain Bolt’s world record.

In theory, Usain could do more if there were 2 buffaloes dragging him across a rice field.

In case you’re wondering if this is the beginning and the end of Gowda’s fame, you’re wrong.

Since he broke the record and he made the news, he has been called up for national trials after his amazing performance.

During an interview with the Asia News International, Gowda said people are comparing him to the great Usain Bolt.

He explained, “People are comparing me to Usain Bolt. He is a world champion, I am only running in a slushy paddy field.”

The images of Gowda taking part in the race were shared by Kiren Riiju, a government minister in India.

Minister Riiju said Gowda will be getting the best coaches the Indian sprinting team can find so the talents of Gowda can be used in the right way.

Minister Riiju said, “Yes @PMuralidharRao ji. Officials from SAI have contacted him. His rail ticket is done and he will reach SAI centre on Monday. I will ensure top national coaches to conduct his trials properly. We are team @narendramodi ji and will do everything to identify sporting talents.”

A race between Usain Bolt and Gowda would be epic!
