Indian Woman Calls Off “Arranged Marriage” After Watching Drunk Groom’s Snake Dance
A bride called off her marriage after the groom got so drunk and performed the Nagin dance, which means snake dance, during the party.
The incident happened in Lakhimpur, Uttar Pradesh on November 9, 2019.
The incident was first reported on Times of India.
The report said that the groom was misbehaving with the family of the bride after he got so drunk.
When the marriage event was about to take place, the groom got pulled by his friends and was invited to dance and get drunk.
The family of the bride tried to pull him off the dance floor, but instead of obeying them, the groom started to misbehave and danced like a snake.
Soon after misbehaving, the groom started to dance on the dance floor and went on to do the “Nagin dance”, which is a human performing the dance of a snake.
The bride was watching everything from the stage, and after getting irritated with the groom, she called off the wedding.
The family of the groom tried to convince her to change her decision, but she made her mind.
After the bride called off the wedding, the groom got close to her and slapped her very hard.
The family then went on to call the police after the groom slapped the bride.
The police arrived at the scene, but the groom’s family requested the police to allow them to resolve the issue by themselves.
The family of the groom then agreed to pay the marriage expenses and for the food that was served during the party and throughout the whole marriage.
Authorities did confirm that the marriage was done through an
arrangement.
Arrange marriage is the most common type of marriage in India and neighboring countries such as Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Nepal.
