As a precautionary measure of the novel coronavirus outbreak, the government of Bengaluru has closed kindergarten classes to make sure kids are safe and away from the deadly disease, which has infected over 106,000 people all over the world.

The action comes after the detection of the coronavirus in the neighboring states of Karnataka.

The decision was reportedly taken on the advice of Karnataka Health Commissioner Pankaj Kumar Pandey.

S Suresh Kumar, the minister for primary and secondary school, said, “Further to the advice received from the health commissioner, holidays have been declared for KJG/UKG classes in Bengaluru North, South & Rural Districts.”

In his letter to the principal secretary in the health and family welfare department, S R Umashankar, Health Commissioner Pandey asked him to close down pre-kindergarten, LKG, and UKG classes in the city of Bengaluru.

The measure was done to prevent the spreading of the coronavirus.

As of this writing, there have been 40 confirmed cases in India about the novel coronavirus.
