Buldhana, Maharashtra: Mother threw her twin daughters, who were 6-months-old, into a well and jumped after them.

The incident happened after the mother had a discord with her family.

Officials said that the mother survived but the twins passed away.

The mother jumped into a well that was located in Jamod Village, located in Buldhana District of Maharashtra.

30-year-old Shital Mohan Bhagat, the mother, got into an argument with her family.

When things got out of control, Shital decided to throw her infants into the well and jumped after them.

Residents of the Jamod Village raised the alarm and called the local police.

Officials recovered the dead bodies of the twins from the said well.

Officials pulled the 30-year-old woman out of the well and rushed her to a government-run hospital in the district.

Officials added that the condition of Shital is currently serious.

The police have formed a team that will investigate into the case.

A case has also been registered.
