Nagpur Police Constable Booked For Raping Colleague On Pretext Of Marrying Her

Nagpur, India: A 30-year-old police constable has been booked for allegedly raping his colleague under the pretext of marrying her.

The news was announced to the public by a Nagpur rural police officer on Tuesday (July 14, 2020).

The police official, who did not release the name of the constable, said that the rapist is attached to the traffic police branch in Veltur.

He had been maintaining physical relations with the woman police constable since 2015.

However, the police constable married another woman, said the police after an FIR was registered following the complaint of her colleague.

The police constable has been booked under section 376 (2) (n) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for repeatedly raping the colleague.

No arrests were made as of writing of this article.
