The Noida police have seized around 1,200 auto-rickshaws and three 3-wheelers for operating illegally and for causing traffic in Greater Noida and Noida.

The 1200 auto-rickshaws were seized by the police in a three-hour seize operation that was led by the Gautam Buddh Nagar Police.

The operation was held from 11 AM to 2 PM.

Vaibhav Krishna, the Superintendent of the Gautam Buddh Nagar Police, said, “The operation was launched against illegal autos/tempos both in Noida and Greater Noida. Around 1,174 autos/tempos have been seized under Section 207 of the Motor Vehicle Act and 475 have been fined for various violations.”

Superintendent Krishna added, “The measure will definitely cause traffic decongestion in the district and will give relief to the public. In future also such drives will be launched.”

Reports suggest that most of the seized auto-rickshaws were registered outside the state and did not have complete documentations.

The government of Noida expects that the traffic flow will be better after the seize operation.
