A doctor in Kolkata was brutally thrashed by the relatives of a 33-year-old deceased woman who died this morning at a private hospital in Kolkata.

The woman, who died, delivered a baby before dying through C-section on Wednesday this week.

The relatives of the 33-year-old said the doctors said that the patient was recovering, but at 3 am on Wednesday, the family said they received a call, where they were informed that the condition of the woman was critical.

By the time they reached the hospital, the woman had died.

The incident reportedly happened at the Calcutta Medical Research Institute (CMRI) Hospital.

Dr. Basav Mukherjee, a gynecologist, was meeting the family after the patient’s death when the husband of the woman got up and started to beat the doctor.

The incident forced the management of the hospital to call in the local police.

In the CCTV footage, Bhattacharya, the husband of the woman, can be seen sitting on a sofa while his family members were talking with the staff.

As the doctor was explaining what happened, the husband got up and slapped the doctor.

In a statement that was released by the Calcutta Medical Research Institute (CMRI) Hospital, they said, “The doctor tried to explain the unfortunate incident to the family and advised for a post-mortem. Despite that the family members in anger and rage not only abused the doctor but also assaulted him and created havoc in the hospital premises.”

The family has filed a police complaint against the hospital.

The Calcutta Medical Research Institute (CMRI) Hospital is now planning to file a counter police complaint.
