JoSAA Spot Round: Joint Seat Allocation Authority 2018 (Counselling Body for Admission to IITs, NITs, IIEST, IIITs and Other-GFTIs for the Academic Year 2018-2019 has affirmed to conduct “SPECIAL ROUND” for NIT plus system. While no official update is still issued regarding non-happening of SPOT ROUND by JoSAA or CSAB either.

Unlike all other seven rounds of JEE Counselling conducted by JoSAA this year, a special round will be organized by CSAB (Central Seat Allocation Board). CSAB 2018 special rounds registration and choice filling have already been initiated on July 24, 2018.

Interestingly, to effortlessly carry out with the procedure, for admissions to vacant seats in diversified NIT+ institutes (B.Tech and B.Arch courses), CSAB has finalised to conduct total TWO special rounds of counselling for the first time. 

Online registration and choice filling will begin with two major credentials – JEE (Main) 2018 Roll Number and Password. For already registered members of Joint Seat Allocation Authority, JoSAA 2018 password will work and JEE (Main) 2018 password in all other cases.

Different Between JoSAA Spot Round and Special Round

Those who’ve already been assigned the seats in JoSAA Counselling are eligible for a special round but not for spot round. Special round is like all other 7 rounds of counselling in which those who’ve already taken admission to NITs can also apply.

While Spot Round is organised just to fill remaining vacant seats in Indian Institute of Technology (IITs), National Insitute of Technology (NITs), Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIITs) and Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology (IIESTs).
