“Avengers: Endgame” The First Movie To Make $1.2 Billion In Opening Weekend
The Avengers: Endgame has smashed almost every record that one outstanding movie can break, the movie is also the first movie ever to make $1.2 Billion USD in its opening week.
The movie is 3 hours long and was the finale that almost every Marvel fan was hoping for, the movie also shattered its own record that was held by Avengers: Infinity War, as it made $640.5 Million around the world.
The movie made $350 million in the United States alone, it broke the record of Infinity War, which made $257.7 million.
The Avengers: Endgame also broke 44 records in other markets.
John Fithian from the National Association of Theater Owners said, “We’re looking at more than 30 million American and more than 100 million global guests that experienced ‘Endgame’ on the big screen in one weekend. The numbers are just staggering.”
The movie is also now the highest grossing 3D movie of all-time, the movie made $540 million across the world.
Alan Horn, the chairman of Disney hailed the Marvel Studios for challenging the “notions of what is possible at the movie theater.”
He added, “This weekend’s monumental success is a testament to the world they’ve envisioned, the talent involved, and their collective passion, matched by the irrepressible enthusiasm of fans around the world.”
The movie was first released on Wednesday, the date of the release varies on where you live, it only took five days for the movie to cross $1 Billion mark.
To meet the demand by Marvel Cinematic Fans, Walt Disney Co. has released the “Endgame” in more cinemas.
Advance ticketing services also set new records in the movie industry, some cinemas also stayed open for 72 hours to meet the demand.
Cathleen Taff, the president of distribution in Disney said, the movie is the “culmination of one of the most cherished franchises in pop culture.”
Cathleen added, “They’ve layered and deepened the universe that people cared and loved, and our fans and moviegoers showed up for it. We couldn’t be more grateful and thrilled.”
