Dunkirk, Christopher Nolan’s upcoming film about one of the most crucial battles during World War II, finally released its first trailer. Dunkirk stars Tom Hardy, Cillian Murphy, Mark Rylance and One Direction’s Harry Styles.

The film tells the tale of British and Allied forces stranded in Dunkirk and surrounded by the German Army during World War II. The Battle of Dunkirk took place between the Allies and Nazi Germany in France from May 26 to June 4, 1940. By the end of the battle, more than 330,000 Allied troops were rescued from the town.

The trailer opens with British soldiers getting leaflets dropped by German planes, urging them to surrender before cutting to the soldiers being bombarded on the beaches of the port.

With the tagline “At the point of crisis, at the point of annihilation, survival is victory,” the trailer sees the Allies fighting for their lives on the infamous French beach. The production is set for release on July 21, 2017.
