Filmfare Hit Back At Harshvardhan Kapoor Over Awards And An Ugly Twitter War Followed
The 62nd Annual Jio Filmfare Awards recently happened. And like always, there were a few disappointments. Firstly, the avid singer Amaal Mallik opened up about the same on Facebook and criticized such award ceremonies in harsh words.
Later, veteran actor Rishi Kapoor’s confession that he purchased his “Best Actor” award for money gave rise to a big controversy. However, it didn’t stop here
Most recently, Harshvardhan Kapoor who made a debut in Bollywood in 2016 with “Mirzya” stormed the Internet with his statement in which he lashed out for losing the “Best Male Debutante” award to Diljit Dosanjh.
The Indian Express reported Harshvardhan saying,
“I won every award except Filmfare. Some awards have a jury and they decide. Some have a popular vote. So I don’t know how they decided this year.”
Later, he talked about his compatriot having enough experience for not to be called a debutant.
“I think debutant awards should be for people who are relatively new to films. I have done less work. Otherwise, it is like saying I have done 100 English films and now I am doing a Hindi film so I am a debutant. So if Leonardo Di Caprio wins an Oscar and then comes to do a Bollywood movie, he is a debutant which is not something I agree with.”
Taking offense to Harshvardhan’s criticism, Filmfare reverted when Anuraddha Tiwari, Executive Editor of the magazine posted a cryptic tweet, terming it as a ‘newcomer’s sense of entitlement.’
The sense of self entitlement some of these newcomer actors have is beyond imagination. If only they were half as talented.

The tweet sure doesn’t have any name but the shade is a clear indication to the ‘Mirzya’ actor’s remarks.
Harshvardhan couldn’t tolerate the editor’s tweet and boldly asked her to take his name…
Just take my name https://t.co/D2Y3ivBbQW

Twitter became the battleground for ‘Mirzya’ and Harvardhan started shooting tweets one after the another in anger, trying to prove his point, in a Twitter war!

It’s not entitlement it’s an opinion just like how your magazine always has one https://t.co/D2Y3ivBbQW

Don’t feel entitled to any award,I’m questioning the principle of who is a newcomer, have zero problems losing to a genuine newcomer

The fight is getting uglier and Harshvardhan is not able to accept the fact that he hasn’t won the Filmfare award. But what is your opinion?
