While we get to see some love stories or action films a lot, Njan Marykutty is a Malayalam Movie. Which touched something utterly different from what people usually get to look at in usual movies.

 

 

Scoring 3 /5 stars on Times of India, the film has earned some excellent reviews from both critic and audience.

 

The movie revolves around Marykutty, who is born as a man but wishes to be a woman. The film is a story of his process of becoming women, and then she aspires to be a police officer who comes with hurdles.

 

The movie has done a phenomenal job in treating the decision respectfully and with dignity. Marykutty, born a man loves to dress up like women and wants to become a woman. She is in the process of sex change.

 

She sincerely desires to join the police force and do her duty. While the movie has done a fantastic balance providing the character with loyal friends. But the general society thinking and problems are portrayed well in the film.

The character is empathetic in the film. However, her sensitivity doesn’t mean she is someone who will keep quiet. She fights against all the insults thrown at her. And in the film, she is referred to as “that thing” by others.

 

 

Jayasurya has done a phenomenal job doing such a character and is. It’s not easy for a male character to pull such style. But the way the actor has pulled this off is impressive.

 

The film dives deep into the issue, as it showcases the daily life problem of being a transgender in Kerala. Likes of the issue of the washroom and so on.

 

The director has surprised everyone with the direction of the film, and every actor in the movie has done a phenomenal job. All together they did something unusual.

 

Overall, the movie does the brilliant job or showcasing what it had planned for. The actors are brilliant, and the direction is fantastic. We highly recommend this film if you are planning on watching something.
