Sanjay Leela Bhansali Open Letter To Rajputs After Being Assaulted By Karni Sena
Sanjay Leela Bhansali gained a lot of attention when a political group from Rajasthan, Karni Sena assaulted the director and destroyed the sets of his upcoming movie, Padmavati. The video surfaced on social media and instantly went viral, one can see an angry mob of protesters going berserk, damaging the film’s set. The protesters getting violent with the crew of the Padmavati especially Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
A letter written by the director’s production house has surfaced which has the production house assuring the social organizations in Jaipur that there are no defaming scenes in the movie Padmavati.
The letter, dated January 29, 2017, was written to All the Social Organisations Headquartered at Shree Rajput Sabha and gives a written acceptance that there are no steamy scenes between Rani Padmavati, portrayed by Deepika Padukone and the Sultan Alauddin Khilji, played by Ranveer Singh.
The letter asked the Rajput Association to assure the production house that such acts of violence will not be repeated and stated that the script has been highly researched and kept as per the historical facts.
Shri Rajput Karni Sena (SRKS) on Monday made a fresh demand, seeking a change in the film’s title from ‘Padmavati’ to ‘Ratan Singh’ and formation of a screening committee under a retired judge, with and historians as members, to vet the film before release.
Make Script Public: BJP MLA
BJP MLA from Rajasthan’s Sheo constituency Manavendra Singh Monday demanded that the script of Padmavati be made public to create an “opportunity to dispel misgivings that have emerged”, and it should be vetted by the I&B Ministry to prevent “such incidents” in future.
