2-Year-Old California Boy Beaten To Death By Mother’s Boyfriend In Parked Car
A 2-year-old boy from Long Beach, California, was brutally beaten to death by his mother’s boyfriend in a car that was parked outside a liquor store.
32-year-old Charles Davis, the man that beat the 2-year-old boy, has been charged with murder.
William Meeks II, the 2-year-old boy, died in June 2019.
According to the police, Davis and William were alone in the car that was parked at Big John’s Liquor store when the 32-year-old man started to beat the boy in a brutal way.
Initially, investigators believed that William died after suffering a medical emergency. But the medical examiner found out something different.
The medical examiner ruled a homicide after finding out that the 2-year-old boy died of intentional blunt force trauma to the head.
Authorities arrested 32-year-old Davis on January 19, 2020, and pleaded not guilty to murder on Wednesday.
According to the father of the 2-year-old boy, Davis only knew the mother of the child for a number of weeks.
The mother of the 2-year-old boy said that she was dating Davis.
Deputy District Attorney Colby Cano called the murder case as complicated.
The lawyer of Charles David indicated that there is more than one suspect in the murder of the 2-year-old boy.
The attorney of Davis said, “I think there could be one, two maybe three people involved in this child’s death.”
On the day of the incident, the police came to a group gathered around the boy.
A bystander was holding William and was trying to revive him.
