6 Elephants Die Trying To Save Each Other At “Death” Waterfall In Thailand

6 elephants passed away while trying to save one another from waterfall in Thailand after a baby elephant fell into the waterfall.

The incident happened in the Khao Yai National Park in Thailand, after a baby elephant fell into the waterfall.

2 elephants were rescued by the authorities after they were seen struggling to get off a cliff near the waterfall.

The Haew Narok, which is also named as Hell’s Fall, has a history of similar events.

In 1992, 8 elephants died after falling into the waterfall.

The Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation of Thailand said officials were called to the park on October 5, 2019, by 3 PM.

A group of elephants was reported to be blocking a road by the waterfall.

While investigating, authorities found the dead body of a 3-year-old elephant near the base of the waterfall.

The dead bodies of the 5 adult elephants were discovered in a spot near the falls.

The 2 elephants that were involved in the incident are being closely monitored.

Edwin Wiek, the founder of the Wildlife Friends Foundation Thailand, “It’s like losing half your family. There’s nothing you can do, its nature unfortunately.”

Edwin said it will be hard for the 2 elephants to survive as elephants rely on their herds in finding food and protecting their food.

Nearly 7,000 elephants are living in Thailand, but more than 3000 are living in captivity.
