Cruel Owner Fined $12,500 For Badly Starving 2 Dogs Who Had Sunken Eyes And Bleeding Ears

A cruel pet owner, who starved his 2 dogs to the point where their eyes started to sink in and blood started to come out from their ears, has been asked to pay $12,000.

The 37-year-old man from Edensor Park, which is located in Western Sydney, was charged with 5 counts of Animal Cruelty.

Authorities went on the property of the man on January 19, 2019, where they found 2 Staffordshire Bull-Terrier Crossbreed Dogs, which had their ears bleeding, sunken eyes, and were extremely malnourished.

According to a fact sheet by the RSPCA, the pet dogs did not have any access to clean water, food, and even shelter.

The inspector seized the 2 dogs.

Scott Meyers, the Chief Inspector of the RSPCA NSW, said, “It is always difficult to see animals in emaciated body condition seized by RSPCA inspectors. Anyone who finds themselves struggling to or unable to care for their animals, please contact your nearest RSPCA or animal rescue group.”

The inspector added, “There are no excuses for allowing animals to suffer.”

When the inspector seized the dogs, the owner was not home, so the inspector left an official note that stated he should contact the RSPCA.

Authorities tried to contact the man, and on February 13, 2019, he was finally interviewed on February 13, 2019.

The owner said he owned the 2 dogs since they were puppies.

He told the authorities that he realized that the dogs started to lose weight, but didn’t bother to take them to a vet.

The man surrendered the 2 dogs to the RSPCA, in which one of them had to be euthanized.

Larry, a dog formerly owned by the cruel owner, is now available for adoption.

The cruel owner did not appear for sentencing, but he was sentenced to pay $12,500 in total for pleading guilty in 5 charges.

He was also asked to pay $3108 to the RSPCA NSW.

The man is also banned from owning any animal for 5 years.
