Dying Buffalo Gores Australian Hunter Through Leg In Act Of Revenge

A Hunter from Australia was left with a hole in his knee and an 8-inch gash just below his bum after a buffalo that he shot gored him in an act of revenge before it died.

According to reports, Chris McSherry, the hunter, spotted the animal in Port Bradshaw, which is just off the northeast coast of the Northern Territory.

The hunter shot 2 arrows at the buffalo, according to reports.

McSherry, 35, followed the blood trail of the buffalo and shot a couple more bolts at the creature.

However, things went opposite when he approached the buffalo, which he thought had died.

The buffalo charged at the dad and gored him twice, leaving him with life-threatening injuries.

During an interview with NT News, McSHerry said:

I managed to turn and get about three steps in before he was on my back and gored his horns into my upper thigh, pushing me forward. That’s when I hit the ground and he put the horns into me again, picked me up by the right leg and flung me about three metres.

The buffalo did die after goring the hunter.

Chris was rushed to the Gove Hospital before being flown to the Darwin Hospital, where he underwent a surgery for the injuries he got.

Recalling the incident, he said:

The buffalo left me with some decent wounds, there’s a Coke can-sized hole above the front of my knee and an eight-inch gash right under my bum.

It is still not clear what happened to the body of the buffalo.

Elise, the partner of the injured hunter, released an update about the health condition of McSherry and thanked people for the support that they sent.

In the post she said:

Just wanted to give everyone an update, Chris McSherry is doing fine and is having surgery as we speak, thank you to everyone that has offered support to me and the girls and Ty, I am very grateful means a lot, and thank you to everyone that has gone to see if he is OK in Darwin hospital, I really appreciate you all as I cannot be there with him xoxo hopefully is home soon, will keep you updated [sic].

Despite the horrible injury, Chris said he will not give up hunting.

In a post that he made on social media, he said:

Buff is dead I’m alive (this time) and hope to be back with my family and friends soon thanks for all the well wishes on other posts I appreciate the love and support and will live to HUNT another day.
