A family that was traveling on a remote highway that is located in the Rocky Mountains of Canada, were extremely shocked when they got into an encounter with a very rare animal.

In the video below, you can see the Clarkson family spotting a very rare white grizzly bear near the side of the road.

Cara Clarkson managed to get a video of the white grizzly bear and its brown-colored sibling against the dark evergreen forest with her phone.

The video that she captured went viral right away, considering the fact that white grizzly bears are extremely rare.

White grizzly bears are very rare.

They are a different species than the Kermode Spirit Bear, who are related to the black bear.

Seth Cherry, a wildlife ecologist that works for the Parks Canada, released a statement about the incident.

Cherry said:

It’s definitely a pretty unique animal. I’ve never seen a white bear personally.

Local officials of the rocky mountains said that they were aware of the extremely rare bears, however, this is the first time that the white grizzly bear got caught on cam by tourists in the Rocky Mountains.
