Food Market In China Was Selling Koalas, Snakes, And Wolf Puppies Ahead Of Coronavirus Outbreak

A food market at the center of the deadly coronavirus outbreak was reportedly selling koalas, snakes, rats, and wolf puppies to locals.

The Huanan Seafood market in Wuhan, China, is currently being investigated by the authorities as officials believe the coronavirus originated from a wild animal that was sold at the venue.

In a desperate attempt to contain the killer virus, the market has been labeled as ground zero by the local authorities.

The Hunan Seafood Market has also been shut down.

The current death toll is at 41 and hundreds of people have been infected with the virus all around Asia.

An image of the advertising board of the seafood market revealed the number of animals they sold.

According to a translation of the marketing board, the market sold live foxes, crocodiles, wolf puppies, snakes, rats, salamanders, peacocks, porcupines, and even koalas.

The incident came to light after locals shared images of the animals’ list on Weibo, a social media website in China.

A user shared the sale of live animals.

The user said, “Just take a closer look at the viral wild animal menu — they even eat koalas. There’s nothing Chinese people won’t eat.”

According to the list, there were 112 live animals and products available to be bought by residents of Wuhan.
