Man Rushes Into Syrian War Zone Town To Save Helpless Cats That Were Left Behind By Owners

Mohammad Alaa Aljaleel traveled alone to Kafr Nabl, a town in Syria, which was hit by airstrikes earlier this week, to rescue helpless cats that were left behind by people.

Before the airstrike happened, a lot of residents went to safety and flew away from the town, but unfortunately, no one looked after the cats.

Alessandra Abidin, the friend of Aljaleel, said it is not easy to take a pet along with you if you have to move out fast and carry your belongings with you.

After knowing that there were cats left behind in Kafr Nabl, Mohammad Aljaleel rushed along with his team to save the cats.

Knowing that a number of cats were left behind by the people, Aljaleel, who is also known as the “Cat Man of Aleppo” went on to rescue pets.

Alessandra said some of the cats approached their team when they saw them, and some had to be brought in by trap cages with foods inside.

Alessandra said, “It’s not a quick job. We have to wait for nearby to drop the cage doors.”

The team saved 83 cats from the town and brought the cats in a relocation area.

Alessandra said, “They can be sure of three meals a day, access to freshwater and the care of everyone at Ernesto’s Paradise. They should settle in quite quickly.”

The team said they are going to return to Kafr Nabl every single day to rescue more animals.

It is not the first time that Aljaleel has placed his life at stake to save animals.

Earlier in his life, Aljaleel was working as an ambulance driver and we became famous for staying in the war zones to feed and rescue abandoned animals.

In 2017, Aljaleel opened an official cat sanctuary so cats can find a permanent home.

Aljaleel opened the House of Cats Ernesto, which is named after his own cat Ernesto, to help abandoned cats.

In late 2017, Aljaleel and Ernesto had to flee Turkey and returned to Syria to reopen the sanctuary in a new location in Aleppo to open the House of Cats Ernesto.

Aljaleel and his team save dogs, rabbits, cats, horses, and other animals that were left behind due to the war.

Allesandra said this is what their team does and will continue to do throughout their entire lives.
