Experts on social media later determined that the shark-like fish that the bird was holding was not a shark, rather it was a ladyfish.
Ladyfishes are capable of growing up to 3 feet long with sharp teeth and a dorsal fin, which makes them look like baby sharks from afar.
David Barret, a birdwatcher that runs the Manhattan Bird Alert, a social media account, said that the bird in the video looks like an osprey.
