If you look at the picture below, you’ll think it’s a picture of a flower, but one thing you don’t realize is that it’s the Orchid Mantis, a rare type of mantis that looks exactly like a flower.

Mostly found in Indonesia and Malaysia, the orchid mantis is as pretty as it can get. They use their beautiful appearance to hide on trees and plants, as they disguise to be beautiful plants.

The orchid mantis is mostly found sitting steady on plants, they use it as camouflage and they strike their prey when they get near.

Their appearance also allows them to protect themselves from predators that hunt on insects. These tiny little insects are so good at hiding that they can just sit on a flower and can blend right in.

Their camouflage is so effective that bees and butterflies can sometimes mistake them for a blossom.

The orchid mantis can be beautiful, but they’re known to hunt larger animals such as mice, lizards, mice, and small insects. Luckily, they don’t harm humans.

A female orchid mantis is capable of growing to up to 6 centimeters long, and male orchid mantises are capable of growing to up to 3 centimeters.

Orchid mantises are only capable of living to up to 8 months, and they’re famous amongst bug collectors and people who are involved in the exotic insect trade.
