Record-Breaking Burmese Python Removed From The Wild By Pair In Florida

Ryan Ausburn and Kevin Pavlidis were on the hunt for invasive pythons in the deep Florida Everglades when they caught a massive Burmese Pythons.

This time, the rescue that they got was so big that it is believed to be capable of breaking Florida’s record, which is at 18.8 feet long.

Ausburn said that this is a once in a lifetime catch for them.

Ausburn is a contractor that works with the South Florida Management District. He is a third-generation South Floridian.

Ausburn added:

For me it’s just my small part of helping out where I was raised. Something has to be done and right now this is how we’re handling it down here.

Kevin Pavlidis, the roommate of Ausburn, helped him rescue the massive python.

The 2 believe that the python is over 15 feet long and will be breaking the official record that is set in Florida.

Pavlidis said that he had never been afraid of snakes before but when he saw this snake, it was the first time that he said “it could kill me”.

Kevin Pavlidis currently works at the Everglades Holiday Park in their alligator pit.

He said that he had officially caught over 400 snakes in the last 2 years, but this is the first time that he had seen something this big.

Pavlidis said:

I know very well that could be the biggest snake I ever see in my entire life. I accepted that the minute that I spotted her.

The 2 men that rescued the snake said that they love wildlife, but it is just that invasive pythons threaten other species, so they had to do something about them.

Pavlidis explained:

Every single snake that we take out of the environment is one less consuming our native wildlife and that’s really what we do it for.

The massive snake will be measured by the authorities on October 8, 2020.
