The Police Will Not Charge Brooke Houts, The YouTuber Who Smacked And Spit On Her Dog For A YouTube Video, With Animal Abuse

Earlier this year Brooke Houts, a YouTuber, uploaded a partially edited prank video last month with clips showing her smacking and spitting on her dog. The video caused outrage on social media, and Brooke took the video off her YouTube channel.

The Los Angeles Police stepped in to investigate the video, and during their recent interview with BuzzFeed News, the LAPD confirmed that the YouTuber will not be charged with Animal Cruelty.

A spokesperson of the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed that the investigation against Brooke has been officially closed.

The Animal Cruelty Task Force said that there was “no crime” committed against her pet dog.

The spokesperson said, “Animal Task Force looked into the matter — obviously they saw the video the public had seen. They determined it didn’t rise to the level of animal cruelty.”

In August, Brooke went viral on social media after her uploaded video was shared by Twitter users.

The unedited version of her video showed her spitting and smacking her dog.

The LAPD’s Animal Cruelty Task Force was informed about the video and was asked to open an investigation into a possible animal abuse case.

Brooke released a statement after the video went viral, in which she said, “I want to clarify that I am NOT a dog abuser or animal abuser in any way, shape or form.”

She said the deleted scenes were just her “playing up her mood” with her pet dog.
