A rescue tiger that is living at an animal shelter home in Germany, gets a golden fang after she accidentally broke hers while playing with toys.

Cara, a 5-year-old Bengal Tiger, was fitted with a gold fang that would cover her damaged tooth.

Cara, who weighs at 125 pounds, had to go through 2 operations to get the golden fang.

The first one was done to take a mold of the fang, and the second one was done to fit the golden fang.

The first operation on Cara took over 2 hours, and the second operation took around 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Dentists fitted the golden fang over the damaged tooth of Cara by using UV light and special glue.

According to reports, Cara has adjusted to the new tooth and is using it normally.

The keepers of Cara said she spent a long time figuring out what the metal thing was, and was often seen licking the golden fang.

In the first three weeks, the meat that she was eating had no bones.

Eva Lindenschmidt, a biologist, said, “We are really pleased that Cara can bite properly now and is seen smiling showing her new gold tooth. The tooth crown fitted perfectly from the start.”

Eva added, “We saw on the X-rays that the grooves in her tooth went right back to the root canal. If the tooth had broken, she would have been in extreme pain. Luckily the team of international specialists in dental medicine were able to produce the gold crown including Danish vet dentist Jens Ruhnau and Dr. Johanna Painer from Vienna Veterinary University.”

She continued, “The operation did not have any complications and the crown fit perfectly from the start, we are happy Cara can bite properly again.”

Cara was found at a farmhouse in Mugnano Italy, under private ownership.

Cara was confiscated and was transferred to the Tierart tiger station in Massweiler, Germany in 2015.
