Yellowstone Park Grizzly Bear Defends His Kill From Intruding Grey Wolf

A photographer captured footage that is being called by many as a once in a lifetime encounter between a bear and a wolf.

The amazing incident happened in Yellowstone Park, USA,

Here is the video:

Seth Royal Kroft, the photographer from Montana, heard that a massive grizzly bear had killed a large bull elk when he arrived at the scene.

Realizing that there would be more animals, he set his alarm for 2 am and jumped into his vehicle.

He arrived at the Yellowstone National Park and it turned out that it was something that he or anyone would have expected.

The Yellowstone Park, which is in Wyoming, also spreads into parts of Montana and Idaho.

It took Seth some time to track the animal, considering that the park is extremely big.

When the sun started to rise over the river, he saw the bear lying near its kill.

He started to take amazing videos and photos of the encounter.

Recalling the moment, Seth said:

It was very exciting. I have encountered black bears while camping a number of times over the years, but they are relatively harmless in most situations. I’ve only come across grizzly bears a few times and only in Yellowstone Park. All that to say I will still generally carry bear spray on my person when hiking in potential bear country.

Grizzly bears and wolfs are natural-born killers, so both of them are extremely dangerous for humans.

But despite having killers at one scene, the grizzly bear was not worried about the wolf.

The Grizzly knew that a single wolf was not a threat to him.

He added:

As large as it was, the grizzly knew a single wolf wasn’t any kind of threat. The wolf seemed to have a mischievous, playful demeanour. As if it was a game. It would slowly get as close as it could to the elk carcass, achieving a distance of mere inches from it before the bear would stir slightly and sent the wolf quickly retreating.

The photographer said that he was watching the entire scene.

The wolf tried to take on the bear 4 times, but the bear was unbothered, so at one point the wolf just went back into the woods.

This is such an amazing catch!
