A forensic scientist in Brazil was fired from his job after he was caught having sex with a dead body in a autopsy room.

Wanderley dos Santos Silva was caught having sex with a corpse by an officer from the Department of Forensic Police.

The police officer walked into the autopsy room at the Institute of Legal Medicine and found Silva having sex with the dead female body.

According to reports, Silva ran out of the room when the police officer saw him having sex with the dead body.

In a report published by the Daily Mail, Silva was out celebrating with a mate after his local football team won in the continental Copa Libertadores.

Silva was drunk and ended up at his workplace, this is where he had sex with a dead female body.

After the incident, the police launched a necrophilia investigation.

Laws in Brazil do not have a harsh sentence for people who have sex with a dead body.

But if found guilty, Silva can face anywhere from 1 to 3 years in jail and a huge fine.

Silva and another colleague were fired from their jobs.

The incident was also reported to the Department of Forensic Police.
