Vermont, USA: A couple married for nearly 50 years were just enjoying their cocktail on their deck, where they talked about their inevitable deaths.

As the couple walked back inside their house in Vermont, a piece of ice fell off their roof and fatally struck 73-year-old Linda Freedman Scharranberg in the back of her head.

The incident was confirmed by Jodine Meyers, the daughter of the couple.

Scharrenberg was reportedly knocked unconscious and fell into the snow face first.

According to the Caledonian Record, the paramedics were called on the scene and they worked hard to revive Scharrenberg for 1 hour.

The authorities eventually determined that even if she did wake up, she would not have any cognitive function.

Jodine, the daughter of the couple, said her father told her mother about how he would not manage to live without her before the incident happened.
