Government of New Zealand is currently looking for Cannabis expert with ‘Proven Experience’ and is offering $137,479-$194,088 for the position

The New Zealand government is currently looking to hire a cannabis expert that has “proven experience” ahead of the non-binding referendum for a legal cannabis market that will take place next year.

In the first weeks of May, Andrew Little, the Justice Minister of New Zealand, announced that the people will have to vote if they want to decriminalize cannabis, but he added that there will be strict restrictions, which includes rules for home-grown cannabis, special bars for consumption, and special outlets for the sale of cannabis.

Justice Minister Little added, “Cabinet has agreed there will be a simple Yes/No question on the basis of a draft piece of legislation.”

If you get hire for the position of Cannabis Referendum Policy Manager with “proven experience”, you can get a salary of $137,479-$194,088.

Applicants are going to have to build and lead a team and work along the Parliamentary Counsel Office for the draft of the legislation.

The job advertisement reads, “If you have proven yourself as a thoughtful manager, people-leader and coach then we want to hear from you.”

The notice adds, “You will have proven experience at coaching and developing teams and supporting individuals to grow and thrive.”

Application submission will close on Monday.
