The boy approached the manhole and threw one of his fireworks in the small hole.
After throwing the firework in the hole, a loud sound of air could be heard in the video.
A couple of seconds into the video, the manhole blows up with debris and smoke covering the entire area.
The video of the incident was shared on social media, and many people were unhappy with the happening.
According to reports the incident happened in Chifeng, a city located in Inner Mongolia.
Surveillance footage of the incident shows the boy dropping lit fireworks through a small hole in a manhole before retreating as the ground emits smoke and a loud sound.
The manhole explodes, leaving the sidewalk severely damaged.
The boy could be seen rushing back inside a showroom after the incident.
No injuries were reported in the incident, but the explosion did damage 3 vehicles that were parked next to the sidewalk.
Authorities will not press charges as the boy is very young.
Reports suggest that the family of the boy will provide compensation for the damaged vehicles.
