North Carolina Couple Accidentally Cook Snake With Pizza
A family from Wake Forest, North Carolina, accidentally cooked a snake along with a frozen pizza.
Amber Helm and Robert Helm were trying to rustle up a frozen pizza inside their oven on the evening of Monday.
The couple found out something was wrong when they smelled something awful coming from the oven.
Smoke was also billowing from their oven, and upon checking it, they found a snake inside the oven.
A snake managed to get inside their oven, and got killed once the family switched the oven on.
The poor snake was baked alive along with the frozen pizza, which the family did not eat.
Amber, the mother of 2 boys, talked about the incident with WRAL.
Amber said, “The oven started smoking and I told my boys ‘back up’ so I can make sure a fire or anything didn’t happen.”
Amber added, “I looked closely and was like ‘Oh my God! That’s a friggin’ snake!’”
Amber took her 2 sons out so they can have dinner.
Robert, the husband of Amber, was left alone to clear up the baked snake inside the oven.
Talking about the pizza, Amber said, “We did not eat the pizza. I hear a lot of people asking the question. ‘Did we eat the pizza?’ No.”
Robert placed the oven on self-clean after he was assigned the task to clean the oven.
He pulled the snake out and threw it away.
Amber and Robert said they haven’t used the oven since the incident happened.
Amber said they have a hard time forgetting the smell of the burning snake.
Talking about the snake, Robert said, “I was queasy and it was creepy. There’s nothing good about finding a smoky snake in your oven.”
The couple said the snake was around 18 inches long.
The family is not sure how the snake managed to slither inside the oven, but the concerned mother is planning to hire an animal expert so their house can be inspected.
Amber said, “I have two little boys so I’m just so concerned. Every time I see a shadow I’m like freaking out.”
Talking about the snake, Amber said, “I’m not happy about the way that the snake died. That’s a sad way to go for any living thing.”
Well, it was a bad day for the snake.
