Jajpur, Odisha: A retired CRPF (Central Reserve Police Force) was arrested by the police on September 16, 2019, for sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl after he offered her chocolates.

The mother of the girl registered a complaint, in which she stated that the retired soldier gave chocolates to her daughter and brought her to a secluded place, where he raped her.

Sukanta Kumar Patra, the inspector in-charge, said the mother was at a market with the retired solider and another neighbor to get her shoes repaired.

The man then took her to a secluded area and raped her.

The retired Central Reserve Police Force Soldier threatened the girl and told her she would face consequences if she shared the incident with her mother.

The retired officer who raped the 11-year-old girl was staying at his relatives when he committed the crime.
