An 8-year-old girl was raped and murdered after she ran away from their house following an argument with her parents.

Detectives claim that 8-year-old Vika Teplayakova was lured into a car by a married couple after she was spotted wandering alone on a road.

The husband raped her in the back seat of the vehicle before strangling her with a plastic bag.

The body of the little girl was found dumped near a lake in Sakhalin Island, Russia.

Authorities believe that the girl was trying to reach her friends in her old hometown when she was abducted.

The suspects have been identified as Igor Dvorniko and Kristina Dvorniko.
