Chinese Doctor Injects Herself With Untested Coronavirus Vaccine With Hopes Of Finding The Cure

A 54-year-old Chinese doctor stunned people all over the world after she injected herself with an untested coronavirus medicine.

Scientists in China and all over the world are currently working together to find a way to beat the Covid-19 virus.

However, vaccines can take months or even years to make as they have to go through testing and animal trials.

Chen Wei, the 54-year-old Chinese doctor, skipped a few steps by using the untested vaccine on herself.

The 54-year-old stood in front of the photographer as a person dressed in full protective gear when she injected herself with the untested vaccine.

The world-renowned epidemiologist and a major-general in China’s People’s Liberation Army wanted to show that China was moving quickly with a coronavirus medicine.

During the press release, China’s PLA (People’s Liberation Army) claimed 6 members of the team have also been injected with the vaccine.

To share the news with the public, pictures of the event were posted on the PLA’s social media account on Weibo, a social media platform in China that is equivalent to Twitter.

But the post has been taken down.

During an interview with Chen, she said, “We are doing all we can to put the recombinant vaccine that we are developing into clinical application. We must strive to bring the vaccine we are working on to clinical trial and application, providing strong technical support for winning this battle.”

Chen, the doctor, was one of the people credited with developing the world’s first gene-based vaccine on Ebola in 2014.

She also played a huge role in helping combat the SARS outbreak in the early 2000s.

Chen and her team have been working at the Wuhan Institute of Virology, which has helped them come up with a plasma therapy treatment and a nasal spray that can help boost a person’s immunity.

The laboratory is one of many around the world that are trying to find an effective and human-ready vaccine for the virus.

Over 95,000 people have been infected with the virus and over 3,200 people have died.
