Sophie Trudeau, The Wife Of Canada’s PM, Tests Positive For Coronavirus

Sophie Trudeau, the wife of Justin Trudeau, the Prime Minister of Canada, has tested positive for the deadly coronavirus.

Justin Trudeau, the Prime Minister of Canada, will isolate himself for 14 days after Sophie, his wife, tested positive.

According to CNN, Sophie has mild symptoms of the virus and is feeling pretty well.

She will reportedly stay in isolation for 14 days, said the office of the Prime Minister in a statement on late Thursday.

Sophie came with flu-like symptoms on Wednesday, after speaking in the United Kingdom.

Health officials are now reaching out to those people that had been in contact with her during her trip to the UK.

The office of the Prime Minister said, “The Prime Minister is in good health with no symptoms. As a precautionary measure and following the advice of doctors, he will be in isolation for a planned period of 14 days.”

It added that on the advice of his doctors, he will not be tested since he has no flu-like symptoms.

He will continue with his duties and will address the citizens of Canada on Friday.

His office said, “For the same reason, doctors say there is no risk to those who have been in contact with him recently.”

Sophie, the wife of Justin, thanked the people that reached out to her.

She confirmed that she is doing well.

In a statement that she released, she said, “Although I’m experiencing uncomfortable symptoms of the virus, I will be back on my feet soon.”

She added, “Being in quarantine at home is nothing compared to other Canadian families who might be going through this and for those facing more serious health concerns.”

As of writing this article, Canada has confirmed 158 cases of the deadly virus and has killed one of their patients.
