West Bengal Public Service Commission made an official notification public on 17th August concerning WBPSC SI Recruitment 2018. As per the notification, a total of 957 posts of Sub Inspector are vacant in the Subordinate Food & Supplies Service, Grade-III, under Food & Supplies Department, Govt. of West Bengal. The online application submission procedure would be commenced from 22nd August.

Suitable candidates would be recruited on the basis of performance in the written examination (objective type) followed by the Personality Test.

Eligibility Criteria:-

• Educational Qualifications: Candidates must have passed Madhyamik Examination from West Bengal Board of Secondary Education or its equivalent. Applicant should have ability to read, write, and speak Bengali (Not for those whose mother tongue is Nepali).
• Age Limit: Applicant’s age must be in the bracket of 18 to 40 years as on 1st January 2018. The upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ ST candidates while by three years for B.C. (Non-creamy layer) candidates. No relaxation for candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ BC (Non-creamy layer) of other states. Date of birth would be recorded as given in the Madhyamik or equivalent certificate.

Candidates interested in the WBPSC SI recruitment 2018 need to apply through online mode only. Forms can be submitted using pscwbapplication.in.

Application Fee:- Applicants need to pay Rs. 110/- plus 1% service charge of Examination fee only for online payment through debit/ credit card plus service charge/ GST as applicable as Government Duty or Service charge of Rs. 20/- only for payment through Bank Counter (offline payment) or Service charge of Rs.5/- only for Net Banking.

SC/ ST candidates of West Bengal are exempted from the fee payment. SC/ ST/ BC applicants of other states cannot avail any relaxation in the fee payment.

Important:- if a candidate found ineligible as per the circumstances provided in the notification at any instance even after issuing of the letter of appointment, then his/ her candidature would be dismissed.

Once the written examination and personality test is completed, a final merit list would be prepared. Exam date will tentatively be provided after completion of the application procedure.
