Recently, David Warner and South African wicketkeeper Quinton de Kock were involved in a heated off-field exchange in Durban on Sunday. The incident took place during the tea break on the fourth day of the ongoing first Test match between the two countries at the Kingsmead.

CCTV footage from the players’ tunnel showed Warner and De Kock involved in a fiery exchange as players climbed the stairwell to their dressing rooms during the tea break. The video shows Warner being restrained by Australia batsman Usman Khawaja and spin bowler Nathan Lyon as he directs a verbal barrage at De Kock.

Warner is now getting investigated for a reported altercation with de Kock. In the video, we can see Warner being pushed away from de Kock by his teammates. Even Australian skipper Steve Smith pulls his deputy Warner to the dressing room. Australia wicketkeeper Tim Paine also moves in to block Warner.

However, the South African batsman De Kock and Markram cannot be seen reacting too much in the leaked footage. Cricket Australia after the video was leaked said that they are aware of the video and are investigating the matter. “CA is aware of reports of an incident between players in Durban,” a CA spokesperson said.

“CA is working to establish the facts of what has occurred and will not be commenting further until that has been done.”

De Kock was struggling for form during the recently concluded Test series against the Indians where he could manage only 71 runs in 6 innings. But when his side was in trouble against the Australians, the left-hander along with Markram, took the side in a strong position.

However, Mitchell Marsh broke the partnership by removing centurion Markram while Starc’s 3-wicket over reduced the hosts 9 down. South Africa were 293 for nine at the close of the fourth day, still, 123 runs adrift of Australia.
