Harbhajan Comments On The Ball-Tampering Saga And Calls It A Joke!!
The whole of the cricket world was in a state of shock as the Australian team committed Ball tampering while playing against South Africa. The captain of the Australian cricket team, Steve Smith who was stripped of his captaincy after the tampering scandal was seen emotional and took the whole responsibility of the unethical practice on himself as a captain when he addressed to the press.
“To all of my teammates, to fans of cricket all over the world and to all Australians who are disappointed and angry. I’m sorry, I take full responsibility, I made a serious error of judgment and I understand the consequences. It was a failure of leadership. I will do everything to make up for my mistake.” Smith said.
Steve Smith and David Warner were imposed with a ban of 1year while Cameron Bancroft was imposed of a 9-month ban. All three of them admitted their mistake and apologized to Australia and the pain they inflicted on the country due to their one wrong mistake.
This didn’t change their punishment while Cameron and Warner are set to challenge the punishment at the ethics board and also legally. While it is being heard that Steve is ready to accept his punishment.
The cricket world was in a state of shock when the Australian Cricket Board imposed such tough punishments on the players. Many cricket players along with the South African players supported the Aussie players to reduce the time span of the ban. Recently Harbhajan Singh also opened up his opinion saying a year-long ban is a joke for a ball-tampering incident.
Here what he said in Steve and Warner’s support,
“A year ban for ball tempering ?? That’s a joke. What kind of crime they have done ?Taking the game away from someone for a year is absolutely nonsense.understand if ban was for 1 test series or 2 but this is ridiculous.hope @CricketAus reduce the ban @stevesmith49 @davidwarner31”

Earlier Indian Bowler, Jasprit Bumrah also supported Smith saying don’t forget all the right things they have done just for a single mistake. Steve Smith is currently one of the best batsmen in the world of cricket and yes, we agree that the whole tampering saga was a wrong decision from Steve and Warner’s side but we seriously feel that the punishment given to them was way too tough.
